Just Let Me Go Outside!!

Yum... those leaves and that grass tasted pretty good.

I LOVE THIS WEATHER!!! Spring is here and I am soooo glad! This is my absolute favorite time of year. We have been hanging out outside as much as possible doing whatever we can find to do. John Luke is an outside boy. He goes to the back door first thing in the morning right behind his daddy and beats on the door all day long!! He points outside and yells. I'm assuming if I could speak his language he would be saying "Take me outside, please!"

Today, we went down to Open Pond to have a picnic. Kimberly is out for Spring Break and her birthday is Friday, so we had a little picnic with Aunt Kimberly and Nan. John Luke had his own menu of food which included dirt, grass, leaves and a few bites of Vanilla Wafers. I just let him go. Dirt and all! It was beautiful down there as it always is this time of year. Hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful weather!

Thank God for Easter!

Today is a very special day as most everyone knows. It is the day we celebrate Christ's resurrection! To me, it is the most important day of the year!!!
This morning John went to Sunrise Service at church. I stayed home with John Luke since he was still snoozing but I got up and read my devotion and watched the beautiful sunrise from home. I think the older I get, the more I enjoy the peacefulness of early morning. At one time, I thought I would never say that! When John got home we gave John Luke his Easter basket. He was not interested in anything that was in it except the little truck. That's all he cares about right now; pushing trucks around. We then all went to Sunday School and Worship service. Grandmother Dean had fixed dinner for everyone so the family went there and I pigged out! We tryed to take some pictures but as you can see John Luke (Mr. Photogenic) (Ha! Ha!) would not cooperate. Stacey and Kady were home so it was nice to see them again. Kimberly was very sick and daddy stayed home to take care of her so they didn't make it.
When we got home John Luke was pooped so he went right to sleep and John and I played a little softball. John is playing softball with the church this year and he thinks he is supposed to hit like the pros so we have been practicing. If he had someone that could pitch it to him better he might be able to hit better! Anyway it's fun!
Then John's parents and his aunt, uncle, cousin, and a few of their friends from Chicago came over to visit. They all had fun on the Ranger riding around in the cow pasture! What a different world this is for them!
So... today was a great day. I am so thankful that Jesus died for me but even more thankful He arose!! What a wonderful hope we have in knowing Christ is Alive!!! I LOVE one of the hymns we sang in church this morning - "Because He lives I can face tomorrow, because He lives all fear is gone, because I know who holds the future, and life is worth the living just because He lives!" HAPPY EASTER!!!!

Weekend of Fun

The crew minus John and Brad. John had not made it down yet and Brad was taking the picture.

John Luke liked the rolls at O'Charley's as much as his Aunt Kimberly!

This weekend we all went to the "fish house" in Foley. We call it the "fish house" because it is on Fish River. Our sweet cousins in Atlanta hardly ever make it down there so they are always happy for us to use it. Anyway, usually when we go the guys go fishing and the girls ride around looking at houses and/or shopping. There are the most beautiful homes in Foley and all around that area. I think partly what makes them so pretty are the enormous live oaks and pecan trees. Then we either all go eat somewhere good or we decide what we want to cook at home. The picture of the yellow building is one of the places we went to eat. I had to show a picture of it because daddy had decided that day he wanted BBQ for supper so we drove around 1 1/2 hours looking for this particular place. He knew he had seen it somewhere and was determined to find it. When we FINALLY got there it was a yellow storage building. I must say it was good. I thought it would fit in perfectly with the storage building and the tin shed back at the trailer home!
We also played Catch Phrase one night. That was fun but I didn't make it too long because they waited until about 10:00 to start playing and that is WAY past my bedtime! And it was definitely too late for John. He had been snoring for at least an hour at that point.
The girls went to meet Stacey, Kady, Aunt Vickie, and Ashlie in Mobile for lunch at O'Charley's on Saturday. Kady is still beautiful and TINY. She is like a little baby doll. I couldn't believe how small she still is. She has the prettiest black hair and dark skin.
It is nice to just be able to get away and enjoy the family for a few days. We always have a good time!
