John Luke and Sawyer

John Luke had his friend Sawyer over to play today. Ashley had a hair appointment and we were happy to have Sawyer come visit. She needed a few minutes of baby-free time and I totally understand. She got a new do and now she is a stylin' mama. Sawyer brought over his musical table to play with since John Luke's mama is the meanest in the world and won't buy him any toys. Although I am going to buy this particular toy for Christmas. Maybe after Christmas John Luke's friends won't have to bring their toys with them when they come to play! These two had a good old time playing with the table. I'm glad they got to enjoy one another. Come back anytime Sawyer!

7 Months Old

John Luke turned 7 months old today. I cannot believe he is that old already. Time is flying by so quickly! He is starting to pull up and stand. He wants to let go and walk so badly. It probably won't be long.

War Eagle!

War Eagle!! As you can imagine we were all very happy after last night's game. We went down to my parent's house and watched the game. Brad was the only Alabama fan there so you know he got ragged! We tried to take it easy on him. Oh well, six in a row. We're on a roll!! My other sister Amy (who is an Alabama fan) was at the game. I hate she had to be up there with all those tiger fans! John is trying to get her to come on over to the winner's side but she just keeps hangin' in there with the losers. Oh Well, War Eagle!!!

More Thanksgiving Fun

After we left the Jacobs we went to visit with the Colvin clan. Michael, Jessica, and Caleb were here so John Luke got to play with his cousin. They crawled around everywhere. Caleb is now pulling himself up on the chairs. I think John Luke played so hard he wore himself completely out. Before long those two will be running around! They had a good time.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We have so many things to be thankful for. I get so busy with all the routines of life I forget how God has tremendously blessed me. I was thinking of the song "Count your many blessings, name them one by one, count your many blessings see what God has done." Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving

Today we celebrated Thanksgiving with our families. We ate dinner with Grandmother Dean and Papa Gene. All the cousins, aunts, and uncles were there and they thought John Luke was just precious. He entertained everyone as usual. He and Aunt Kimberly were taking a little rest on the couch after the big meal.

So Big

This morning after John Luke got his bath I laid him in his bed to get his clothes ready. When I turned around this is what I found. John had just lowered his bed two days ago. There's only one more notch to go. After that I don't know what we'll do. He is growing so fast!!

More Teeth

John Luke is getting the top two teeth now. For some reason he was wanting to show them off today. He gave me a big smile. (which is unusual since most of the time when he sees the camera he does not cooperate at all.)

Birthday Surprise!

My dear, sweet husband sent me flowers for my birthday. Some people may wonder why this is such a big deal but it is for me because John is not a flower guy. He thinks they are a waste of money. Well, one time I told him that I would have a heartattack if he had flowers delivered to me and he remembered me saying that so he called and ordered them and had them delivered to the house. I was shocked! They were beautiful. I was so proud of him! Here they are.

YUM! YUM!

Last Monday afternoon it was really pretty outside so me and John Luke went out to swing. John, Brad, and Mario were working on the "beautiful" shed for the Ranger and lawnmower. I think it turned into much more than what John had originally planned but that's how most of John's jobs go. Well anyway me and John Luke wanted to go outside and hang out with the boys and watch their project so we were sitting in the swing just a swingin' and Lucky joined us. John Luke had his teething biscuit. Yea, I know that sounds weird but he likes it. I guess it feels good to his teeth. So, he thought Lucky would like it as well. And she did! She took it right from him. John Luke didn't mind a bit. He just laughed!

Weekend Fun

This weekend me, John, and John Luke went to Fish River, which is in Foley, with my family. We had a really good time being together with everyone. When we are all together, it makes me very thankful that I came from a large family. We all seem to have fun especially now that we're older and have more in common with one another. It is also a big help to me because I have plenty of babysitters for John Luke and there's enough people to keep him interested and he doesn't get bored with one person. I enjoyed the time away with some different scenery. I am the biggest homebody in the world but even I like to get away once in awhile. Anyway, I am thankful we had the opportunity to get away all together.
Saturday the girls and John Luke all went to Daphne shopping. We were supposed to be doing some Christmas shopping but I think we made it to two stores. We forgot how long it really takes to shop! I got a lot of cute things for John Luke. It's funny how now I spend more time shopping for him than I do for myself and I actually have more fun. All baby clothes are so cute. So anyway, we get finished in the two stores we were in and head to the van to leave but unfortunately the van doesn't crank! Great! Ofcourse since I was the one who had driven us there I got the blame for not turning the key all the way off therefore running the battery down. Well, I just don't think I did that. The skank mobile as Kimberly and Amy calls it (which is mother's van that she just loves and wouldn't trade for anything), was not cooperating. So here we are all us girls and poor John Luke who for now has to most of the time get stuck hangin' out with the girls, were all sitting in the parking lot with a dead battery. It gets worse. Before all this happened, we were in sort of a hurry because Amy was having a little bit of a problem and needed to find a bathroom quick! Well too bad we were not going anywhere! We stopped one group of ladies that were parked in front of us and asked if they could jump us off. We had the jumper cables, just needed their car. Well, guess what they said, NO! I cannot imagine telling someone no about helping jump their car off. You can imagine we had a few words to call them! Hey old hags, haven't you ever heard "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", or "What goes around comes around"!!!! Well, thankfully a nice gentleman and his wife were willing to help us. He sent a nice wish for the old hags - "Maybe they will break down on the way home." Oh well, we learned how important it really is to help others. Like the little saying goes, WWJD (What would Jesus Do?). Anyway in the mean time Amy has relieved herself and found time to shop for some shoes! We head home and have to stop and take some pictures of a few houses that are a lot like the one I would like to build. I can't seem to find any house plans like these so I hope someone can take the pictures and draw a houseplan from them. The guys had made it back from their shopping trip to none other than Outdoor World and The Coleman Store. Who would have ever guessed?!! We all jump back in the skank mobile and John's truck and head for Lambert's Cafe. We had had a hard day and were starved. The rolls are good but I just can't say too much for the food. The atmosphere was fun especially when my dear husband sneaks and tells the waiter that my birthday is coming up and we are there to celebrate so he announces it over the speaker to the whole restaurant!! We got a big plate of banana pudding out of it. None of us really liked it too much EXCEPT John who always likes whatever everyone else does NOT like. Who knows?!! Anyway, the pictures were taken in Lambert's Cafe. (Except the one in the sink we hope!)
All-in-all we had a really fun time. There's never a dull moment with this clan! You can be sure it's loud, confusing, and chaotic whether we are yelling at each other or laughing, but in the end there's lots of love and fun!
Love Ya'll!!!

Admiring My Daddy

John went to the hunting camp yesterday and spent the night so we were happy to see him when he got home today. John Luke was checking him out very closely! He was even trying to pick his nose! He loves his daddy and his daddy loves him!!!

John Luke and Papa

John Luke and I stopped by one day last week to see if Papa had a paper with the Halloween pictures in it. Of course Papa had to see his little boy for a few minutes. He had John Luke in his arms and Carlo(the dog) came running up so John Luke was very intrigued by this little creature. I wanted to get a few pictures of John Luke and his Papa, but instead of just a few Papa kept telling me to get one like this, now get one like this. I guess he wanted to be sure to get plenty of pictures with his little boy.(By the way- Papa is certain he is John Luke's favorite!)

Big Boy Haircut

John Luke finally got a real haircut. Thursday night we decided that it was time for a trim. Well... the trim turned into something a little more drastic! John- who is now John Luke's barber- was trimming the front and John Luke made a sudden move and whack, a big huge chunk was gone. Needless to say we had to finish it out a little shorter than we had anticipated. We cut off at least 3 inches!! I was very sad about this change. My little baby has now turned into a little boy! But... He sure is a handsome little boy!

Lovin' Aunt Amy

Aunt Amy goes to school at Troy University. She came home this past weekend and stopped by to see her little man. He was happy to see her and was giving her sweet love.

Furry Friends

Today was a pretty day to be outside so me and John Luke went out to enjoy the weather. His friend Lucky was hangin out in the sunshine so John Luke decided he wanted to pet her. It has taken a while for him to notice her and want to get close to her but now he will grab a big handful of hair and laugh! I'm not sure Lucky likes this as much as he does but she is so sweet she never makes a sound. She just lays there and endures the pain. They are both furry because Lucky has a ton of hair and so does John Luke!!

Good Morning!

This little boy is always a happy guy. Even when he wakes up. He didn't get that from his mama or his daddy! Every time I go to his bed to get him he is looking up waiting for me with a big smile on his face. He is so precious!!
