Catch-Up

These are a few pictures of our latest adventures...
Paw was gone on a fire detail to north Alabama a couple of weeks ago, and one day he got to fly in the helicopter back to Andalusia. So we went out to the airport to watch Paw land {we missed that b/c we were running late...imagine that!} but John Luke got to play with all the buttons and gears.

This month was mother and daddy's birthday, but since it's been such a hectic time, we didn't get to do any celebrating. We finally had cake and icecream for them Sunday afternoon and it was GOOD! John Luke was lovin' it ofcourse!

As I read my devotions for the day, I was also reading in yet another book called "A Woman's High Calling" by Elizabeth George. This anonymous poem was in one of the chapters and I thought it to be so true. I am sooooo very guilty of getting caught-up in the daily routines, that I too often forget that my child is growing up faster than I can imagine right before my eyes and my time to teach and mold him is QUICKLY passing me by!!! This poem says it perfectly:
A Piece of Plastic Clay

I took a piece of plastic clay
And idly fashioned it one day,
And as my fingers pressed it still,
It moved and yielded to my will.

I came again when days were passed;
The bit of clay was hard at last,
The form I gave it still it bore,
But I could change that form no more.

I took a piece of living clay
And touched it gently day by day,
And molded with my power and art
A young child's soft and yielding heart.

I came again when years were gone;
It was a mind I looked upon;
That early impress still he wore,
And I could change that form no more.

Hope y'all have a wonderful, relaxing, rainy day!!!

I am sure J.L. had a blast playing in the helicopter. How cool!! That would be fun for me too!!
You are so right about molding our children. Life is so busy it seems time flys by and is gone before we know it.

That looked like fun. You sound like me (late). The poem was great and so true.

Happy belated birthday to my wonderful friends. I had such a wonderful time getting to visit with them. That Ricky Jacobs is a CHANGED man. A once gruff man, now completely putty in the hands of a certain grandchild. He tickled me to pieces watching the two of them. Of course your mom was the same way. Catering to John Luke's every whim. You are so blessed to have such Godly, sweet, handsome, kind, wonderful parents to help you mold your babies. Your sisters were doing a pretty good job too. Love you all!!

The third picture is so funny to me. He's like "Leave me along with the camera Momma! I'm busy!!" So cute!
