The front of our house was terribly hard to get a good picture of. I wish I had taken some in the daylight, but this is the best I have.
I have to give my sister credit on this one. She spruced it up a bit. I have thought since the time we bought the house, the front was needing something but couldn't ever figure out how to give it that pop that it was missing. I have always loved lanterns and finally this Christmas I got some! And they did not disappoint!! They add so much warmth and give such an inviting feel to the front. The Sister added the grapevine around the porch posts and put the fresh greenery in the window boxes. She added flameless tealights to the window boxes to give them a soft glow. {You can't see the tealights glowing in these pictures}.
I'm not one to add lots of sparkle and knick-knacks everywhere. I'm more of the natural, fresh greenery and subtle touches kinda Christmas girl.
Overall, I like for our home to feel like our home. Just a little bit more "fixed up".
After looking around the house, I've decided I apparently like wreaths. I added at least one to nearly every room and all the doors!
....and the mantel....
{the old junky shed-as John Luke calls it-needed something pretty so why not?}
I even have one in the bathroom, but I'll spare you :)
We don't have a foyer area in our house, so when you walk in the front door, you walk straight into the living room. Therefore the first thing you see is the mantel. Which I am so excited about and in love with! It gives me another space to decorate :)
Hang in there with me.....I apologize for all the pictures of the mantel. I think I've taken approximately only about 97!
The tree is on the opposite wall.
I like the kitchen to be bright and airy. I also don't have much spare room so, I only added a few "touches" of Christmas to what was there.
Please excuse the ugly popcorn ceiling, and THE DUST HANGING FROM IT!!! OMG!
Both the kiddos have a simple little tree in their room.
And for me, you can never have too many throw pillows :) They're kinda like lamps---when in doubt, throw a pillow on there and stick a lamp with it!
Merry Christmas y'all!
