Bad Hair Day

This looks just like John's hair every morning!

I think we must have done a lot of wiggling around in the bed last night!

8 Months Old

John Luke is 8 months old! I cannot believe it. As you can see he has learned how to wave bye-bye. He is pulling up on everything, and even letting go but he can't stand but just a second. He is doing paddy-cake constantly. He has also started sucking his thumb. He never took a pacifier and I thought we were going to get by with not needing anything but he has found his thumb and likes it. He said "mama" a few times and "bye-bye" but I haven't been able to get him to do it again lately. He is into everything! I cannot turn my back! It is so hard to really believe that he is already this old. I remember when he was born everyone said he'll grow so fast you better enjoy every second. Boy, were they right!!!

A Few More of My Favorites...

This is his new trick. Act like a dog.
Like father, like son.

This was precious. John and John Luke got up before me on Christmas morning and "wrapped" my present together. John said John Luke ate more of the paper than he used.

Christmas With Nan and Grandpa

Amy, Brian, Dawn, Kimberly, Me, John

Mama (or Nan) with her Christmas present.
John Luke and Grandpa. (Please forgive the hat.)

We had Christmas with my family Christmas night. John Luke got a Laugh and Learn Learning Home, pop-up, and clothes. He liked to open and shut the door on his "mini house" and crawl through. I got money and a stocking full of stuff. John got money, "stuff", and an old double ax that daddy had restored from one he found at work. Everyone had a good time hanging out and watching John Luke. He is no doubt the center of attention at that house! After we opened presents we all played Cranium. Let me tell you that is not an easy game. John and I were on a team and needless to say we did not win! We seemed to always draw the wrong card. I must say John was pretty good at his drawings! I was terrible.

Papa and Granny were not able to be with us this year because Papa has been in the hospital. We all went up today and had our Christmas with them. He is doing better right now. I think Granny is the one we have to worry about. She is so stubborn and will not do what she needs to do to take of herself. Pray that Papa will get well and Granny will LISTEN!

Now that Christmas is over once again, what will we do? I'm sure it won't be hard to find something to keep busy. I think I need to go ahead and start getting ready for next year. It seems to always get here before I am ready. Have a Happy New Year!

Christmas Morning

John and I had our Christmas at home with John Luke on Christmas morning. John Luke got a Learn and Groove Musical Table and an Alphabet Drum. He seemed to like them both for about 5 minutes and then he was more interested in the wrapping paper, boxes, kitchen cabinets, or the bug he found in the corner. Maybe next year will be a little more exciting. We decided at this point it is definitely a waste of money to buy a bunch of toys because he gets more enjoyment out of the box it came in than the actual toy!

I got a new purse that I can fit all my stuff in and still have room for a diaper, bottle and wipes! Just what I needed!! I also got some Jessica McClintock perfume. John got a drill that he had been wanting and some Clinique Happy cologne. I love that stuff! I am so blessed with a loving and supportive husband, beautiful, healthy son and all the other "things" in life one could ask for. I just have to stop and say "Thank You Jesus!"

Christmas with Grammie and Papa

John Luke and Caleb (John Luke-8 months, Caleb-10 1/2 months)
John Luke with Grammie
John Luke with Papa
John Luke with Granny. (John's grandmother)

We had Christmas with Grammie and Papa (formerly known as Wayland and Sue) last night. Jessica, Michael, and Caleb were home so John Luke got to play with Caleb. He always seems to be a little shy of Caleb to begin with but he eventually comes around and has fun playing. They got more toys than we could hardly put in the truck. I think the adults had more fun watching the kids than the kids did opening the gifts. Aunt Carol from Chicago was here for Christmas this year and that was nice. (Very nice as she would say.) Granny and Papa were able to join us for a little while. John Luke sat with Granny and observed. He likes to look around at his surroundings. Next year the boys will be talking and walking. That should be fun! With two healthy boys, all the gifts and good food, it is very clear that Jesus has blessed this family beyond measure. I want John Luke to always enjoy the fun of Christmas but also to never forget the REAL reason for Christmas!!

Birthday Boy

Today, Dec. 23, is John's birthday. He is 31 years old!! I had to get a few pictures of my two boys. I thought they looked so handsome in their church clothes. Even though some people (I won't mention any names) thought John Luke looked sissy in his bubble suit with the snowflakes. I, ofcourse, thought he was precious! Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Christmas With The "Kids"

Me and my sweet hubby.
The brother and sisters: Brian(34), Me(29), Amy(front left, 21), Kimberly(19).
The out-laws, I mean in-laws! (Dawn and John)
Ofcourse I couldn't forget about sweet Bradley!
This year all of the siblings decided to do something different. Since we are all grown-up and presents are not so important to us, we got together and played games and ate tacos. We played Catch Phrase, Taboo, and since the "baby" Kimberly was having a fit we had to play Charades(not sure how to spell that one). We all had a great time together. I'm glad we chose to change it up a little this year. Merry Christmas!!!

Thanks To My Sweet Friend

My friend Lee Ann sent these cute little Auburn outfits to John Luke. I wanted to get his picture in them so she could see how cute they are. Lee Ann lives in Auburn so we very seldomly get to see one another but she is a dear friend to me. She has a sweet husband Drew and a precious new baby named Carlee. Carlee was born with a rare disease (I'm not sure if its classified as a disease but I can't remember the official word), and is very sick right now. Please pray that God will perform a miracle and heal Carlee completely. Also pray that He will give Drew and Lee Ann the strength they need to care for her.

Thank You Lee Ann for thinking of John Luke. His clothes fit perfectly and are so very cute. I will be talking to you soon. Love you Lots!

Finally... a smiling picture

I got a new camera and was practicing with my model. I actually got some pictures with John Luke smiling! I was so excited. This camera doesn't have the delay that the other one had so therefore I can capture that pretty smile. I am very happy to finally get some of him looking and smiling at the same time instead of the back of his head or him looking down or crawling to me or whatever he decides to do between the time I click the button and the picture actually takes!!

Lake of Lights

Friday John went to the hunting camp and stayed the night so me and John Luke went to look at Christmas lights. Defuniak Springs had their light display that they do every year so we decided to go there. John Luke was not as enthusiastic as I was hoping but maybe next year. The lights were fantastic. The guy told us they had put up more than 6 million lights this year. I was disappointed about the pictures because the lights don't show at all. Oh well,we had a good time.

Beautiful Rainbow

"Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you and with every living creature that was with you-the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you-every living creature on earth. I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth. And God said, This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and a rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant btween God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."
Genesis 9:8-16
"For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone."
Psalms86:10
"I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works."
Psalms 145:5

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

" Hmm... What is this?"
" I think I will taste..."
" Oh, is she looking?!"
This is what John Luke was doing as I was trying to take a picture of him with his first Christmas tree.

"Sleepytown"

John Luke is always the most precious to me when he is sleeping. I just want to squeeze him to death(not literally). His little face is absolutely adorable! I know I'm just a tad bit partial but aren't we all about our precious ones?!

Learning Young

The Bass Pro Shop is John's favorite place to go. I think he could find something in there he "needs" even if he went every day of the year. John Luke will probably have the same "disease" if his daddy has anything to do with it!
