Why do I fight it?

when it's always so rewarding......

Photobucket
precious scripture.....

Photobucket
the priviledge of prayer.......

"Wake up!" I knew exactly what He meant.  I was to literally wake up by setting my alarm earlier than I would otherwise need to and spend time with Him before my day began and my household stirred.  I remembered what a great Bible teacher from England, Dr. Alan Redpath, once said, that what American Christians needed most was blanket victory.... victory over those blankets in the morning!"

"How many blessings, how many words of encouragement, how many answers to my questions,  how many insights into His Word, how much wisdom have I missed because I just haven't patiently persisted in my pursuit of His voice?"

House crashers

Is that what they would call us? I don't know. We {as in the girls in this family} love to ride around looking at houses. Doesn't really make much difference to us....

could be ones we've seen a bajillion times, but we just really like it, or it could be something new. It could be near or far. This brings to mind a story..... a few years ago, my mother asked me if I would like to go to the Parade of Homes. This is something we do often so I was all in. Well, this particular tour was supposed to be in Georgia. Several hours into the trip, I saw a sign that said Tennessee. Oh yea! She had drug me all the way to Tennessee! Ofcourse to this day, she denies it! I swore that was my last Parade of Homes trip with her.......it wasn't.

One of our favorite locations is the Fairhope/Foley area. We love the architecture and style of those homes. They're all so homey and inviting.

We really love it when the homes are open to the public. We get to nosey through and get new ideas. There is one major difference in the homes we tour and the homes we actually live in.......

it's called budget.

But none-the-less, it's still fun.

Love these doors.

Photobucket
Love these doors and columns.

Photobucket
Love the entry, doors, and porch. Notice the mailbox post....love it too.

One reason we love Fairhope/Foley is because of these beautiful trees....
Photobucket

Photobucket
Love the deep porch, all the different materials---stone, brick, shingles, and I love the color combination.

Photobucket
Love the front door, the wreath, and the chairs.

Photobucket
Love the open space, the lighting, and all the cabinet space.

Photobucket
Love, love, love the exposed brick wall, the accent colors, and the windows!
Photobucket

Photobucket
Love the sideboard and the accessories.

Photobucket
Love these chairs.

Photobucket
Totally love this pantry door!

Photobucket
Photobucket
Love these hand and bath towels from Pottery Barn.

Photobucket
Completely in love with this bright, airy, and spacious kitchen with the farmhouse sink and hardwood floors. I love hardwood floors in a kitchen. The only thing I would change is my floors would look more like these.....
Photobucket

If I could talk my sweet, dear husband into these doors, I'd have one like this at every entrance. They make me smile:-)

And the gas lanterns are icing on the cake!

"House crashing" is definitely one of my most favorite hobbies! Call me crazy, but it lights my fire!

Happy Sunday!

Inconvenience or blessing

" You are not managing an inconvenience but raising a human being."
by: Kittie Frantz

On a daily basis, I have to remind myself....

"I am not managing an inconvenience but raising a human being."

Does that sound as harsh to you as it does to me?

Of course I love my children more than I can ever imagine loving anything else. There's no other love like it.

But even though that is a fact, I find myself much too often wishing I could "have a minute of peace." Or " just a second to myself".

I am a task-oriented, get the job done, organized, don't throw a kink in my plans kind of fool. Children do NOT fit that description in any shape, form, or fashion!

And even though I remind this "I'm busy, got to get it done, no time for play, I'm on a schedule" OCD self of that, I still fail. Miserably.

Grace, Grace. God's Grace. Grace that is greater than all our sins.

Thankfully, God gives me chance after chance. And when I take hold of those chances, the rewards are sweet. Sweet. Sweet.

I get to........

Photobucket

build bridges out of pillows and see how far we can jump......

Photobucket

read stories......

Photobucket

of none other than heavy equipment........

Photobucket

then attend an auction.......

Photobucket

and then go to the car sale........

Photobucket

managed by Buzz and Woody......in all shapes and sizes.......

Photobucket

have a little picnic......

Photobucket

and by all means, let's be a "real" man.......

Photobucket

hang out with Bo, the fox look-a-like.......

Photobucket

then race him up......

Photobucket

and down the driveway......

Photobucket

admire the blue skies......

Photobucket

lounge around......

Photobucket

hang around......

Photobucket

Photobucket

then sleeping beauty arises from her slumber and joins us......

Photobucket

check the mail.....

Photobucket

make time for a meltdown.......

Photobucket

then some pickin'......

Photobucket

then some lovin'.......

Photobucket

Photobucket

take a wild ride......

Photobucket

enjoy the ride together.......

Photobucket

smile for mama.......

Photobucket

chill out......

Photobucket

I'm not sure......

Photobucket

not sure again.......

Photobucket

check out our one and only rotten tomato.......

Photobucket

wave to the neighbors.......

Photobucket

Photobucket

And at the end of these days, I am reminded.....

these precious ones are a "priority blessing", not an inconvenience.
