A Morning With the "Early Bird"

"Bye Bye, Mama. I'm going outside."

For some reason, God gave us a very early riser! John and I are both sleepers and we were not created to wake up really early. We believe everyone should get up at a reasonable hour but some days sleeping in would be nice. Well, I guess God thought we needed to be getting up at or before 6:00 a.m. EVERY morning! So, He gave us John Luke!!! This child will wake up at the same time no matter what time he goes to bed the night before or how tired his parents might be! We don't even have to set the alarm clock because we have a "human alarm clock" as John calls him. Some days we would love to pull the covers over our heads and pretend we don't hear the "rooster" but a 14 month old running free through the house could be a disaster!! Some mornings John will get John Luke out of his bed and put him in bed with us. Now, in the "perfect world" he would lay down with us and go back to sleep. But in the real world that NEVER happens! He is wide awake and ready to play from the moment his eyes pop open and he expects us to be just as energetic as he is. So, this particular morning I decided to get some pictures of what it's like to wake up with Mr. Early Bird. As you can see it never takes long for him to find the back door. He wants to go OUTSIDE!!! The positive side to all this is we are able to get LOTS of stuff accomplished before the day is even half over! No wasting the day away around here!!!

I am lucky in the fact that my "alarm clock" does not go off until 7:00 or 7:30 every morning!!!

I'm with Shonna too!! My nearly 2 and a half year old alarm doesn't arise until 7 or 7:30. Sometimes, we are fortunate to sleep in until 8:00. During the school year, we have literally wake him up,which isn't very fun!!! He can be grouchy like his daddy in the morning! HAHAHA!! I say that because Jeremy thinks the he gets that from me. I am not a morning person at all!!! However, it makes it a whole lot easier to get up in the morning when you have a little precious angel waiting for you to play with them!! I know you would agree 100%. I'll be losing sleep pretty soon!! :)

Oh yes, Nan knows all about Mr. Early Bird! His last overnight trip to my house found the rooster crowing at 5:00 a.m.! Pitch black outside. Nan is too old for that. All four of my babies were late sleepers. If they can arrange it, they are late sleeper adults!! I love you John Luke! Nan will get up with you anytime.
