God's Word Promises...
*God's Word Promises, "I am with you always" {Matthew 28:20}. Therefore, we don't have to be overcome with loneliness.
*God's Word Promises, "My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus" {Philippians 4:19}. Therefore, we don't have to stay awake at night worrying about how the mortgage will get paid.
*God's Word Promises, "Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken" {Isaiah 54:10}. Therefore, we don't have to live in dread of an uncertain future.
*God's Word Promises, "Do not be afraid" {John 14:27}. That means we don't have to give in to fear; regardless of our circumstances.
*God's Word says, "Don't worry about anything" {Philippians 4:6 TLB}. That means that even in the midst of stressful circumstances, we don't have to be anxious.
*God's Word says, "Give thanks in all circumstances". {I Thessalonians 5:18}. That means we can choose to be thankful, even when everything around us seems to be falling apart.
*God's Word says, "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" {Matthew 5:44}. That means, by the power of the Spirit, we can choose to love anyone--no matter how greatly they have wronged us.
*God's Word says, "If you hold anything against anyone, forgive him" {Mark 11:25}. That means there is no one we cannot choose to forgive, no matter how deeply they may have hurt us or sinned against us.
When we fix our minds on Christ and bring every thought into subjection to the TRUTH, the Holy Spirit sanctifies our emotions and grants supernatural grace, comfort, and peace:
"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." ~Col.3:1-2.
I read this today in my Lies Women Believe and the Truth That Sets Them Free book by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. Hope it will encourage you as well!

Thanks, I needed some enlightenment today. In this crazy world it is so easy to put God second, when he should always be FIRST!!
Beth, I would have to say the best Bible study I've ever been a part of was when we studied that book with Kathi Holcomb. It was so convicting we lost half of our class. I think it would be a good idea to read it about every six months to keep it's message fresh. Love and kisses
I am glad to see that you are ejoying that book. I am with your mother in the fact that it is very convicting. I stopped going but for another reason. Like your mother said, read it again and again. I also feel that way about the Passion movie. Every time I watch it, I am reminded of my Savior's undying love for me!!!
Me too Rebecca!
John and I just watched the Passion and that is exactly what we said. I think it would be a great tradition to make a "movie night" about once a month and watch that movie! I need to be reminded of God's sacrifice! I seem to forget how much he suffered FOR ME!! It's very humbling!!!
Beth, I failed to mention that your excerpt from Lies Women Believe is right on the money for the troubling times we are experiencing. God's word is always timely and will address ever need. Great encouragement, Beth, you are truly a blesssing to me!! The proof is in the pudding, God is faithful and He answers prayers!!! Hallelujah!!!! Mama loves you
