Holy Sabbath
This Lord's Day,
I arose at six
prayed
showered
nursed the baby
fixed breakfast
dressed
ironed my husband's shirt
bathed the baby
dressed the baby
found my husband's watch
curled my hair
changed the baby's diaper
answered the phone
put on some makeup
stuck a roast in the oven
packed the diaper bag
grabbed my Bible
dashed to the kitchen for Linda's
casserole dish
ran to the car
and as I strapped my little angel
into his carseat
he vomited all over everything,
including me
and my only ironed dress.
Oh yes, Lord,
I shall remember this
Sabbath Day.
However, I must confess,
I am completely stumped
on how
to keep it holy.
Boy Oh Boy! Does this sound familiar to anyone else?!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that definitely brings back many memories!
Beth, it kind of reminds me of your Mom, with the cat (Kimberly's of course) on the ironing board and the dog tied around her leg...only she needs 3 more kids attached to her. I dunno how she did it! Too Cute! Hang in there...love you!
That is a funny picture! Hope you have a great day!
Funny! A mom's work never ends!
Oh way to familiar. I can't seem to be on time anymore for anything unless I it is late in the afternoon and I have all day to get ready. Christy is right a mothers job never ends, sick or not.
Beth, when I saw the picture and read the poem, I said "that was me some years ago", then I read Dawn's comment. Yes, Dawn you are right! A merry heart doeth good like a medicine Pro. 17:22. That's a good way to start your day, with a laugh!! Love, Mama
ALL TOO FAMILIAR!!! The picture is too funny! I might need to put that on my door before people enter my house...hahahaha!
Dawn, I can,t leave you a comment! Help!!
This was me, but since we live so far from the church, we go out to eat every Sunday. We also stay at the church all day. It is a little hectic getting going, but once we are out the door-were out!!! I kind of miss my old Sunday naps. Are you all going to the fish camp this weekend.
